Mayor of Soria. Since 2002 he is provincial secretary of the PSOE de Soria, being re-elected in 2004, 2008 and 2012. 

Head of list of the PSOE in the municipal elections of 2007, his candidacy was the most voted, being invested mayor on June 16, 2007. 
In the elections Municipalities of May 22, 2011, obtained an absolute majority, being re-elected mayor of Soria on June 11, 2011 and 2015. 
In 2003 he was a prosecutor for Soria in the Cortes of Castilla y León.
