General Secretary of the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO). She has a PhD in Humanities from the University of Leiden.
She joined the General Secretariat of FLACSO in 2006 as associate researcher. In 2007 she assumed the position of director of the Observatory of
Latin American Regional Integration (OIRLA), and from 2008 to 2012 she served as Regional Coordinator of International Cooperation.
She is the first woman elected General Secretary of FLACSO in the almost 60 years that the International Organization is about to fulfill.
She has worked as a professor in the Faculties of Education and Social Sciences of the University of Costa Rica, where she is currently a member of
the Graduate Commission on Educational Evaluation.
